Kasey Henricks, assistant professor of sociology, received a grant from the American Sociological Association
Kasey Henricks, assistant professor of sociology, and Amanda E. Lewis, director of the Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago, received a grant from the American Sociological Association's Fund for the Advancement of the Discipline for their project “Spatial Inequality and the Geography of Monetary Sanctions: A Case Study of the Great American City.” Co-funded by the National Science Foundation, the grant will serve as seed money to continue work on the racial implications of generating revenues for state finance from court fines and fees.
