Abigail Christine Tobias-Lauerman

I’m a PhD student in Critical Race and Ethnic Studies. I received my MA in English from UT, with an emphasis in Rhetoric, Writing, and Linguistics, and my masters thesis examined the discourse surrounding the Jena Six trial, and the ways that colorblind racial logic informs and constrains the ways that people express their stances towards racialized situations. I am interested in issues at the intersection of colorblindness, language and race, and racial formation, as well as critical pedagogy and teaching practices.
