Emily M. Medley
My academic interests include economic, political, and environmental sociology with an emphasis on economies in transition, for-profit models of social entrepreneurship, and social theory. I hold a master’s degree in political science from Central European University, where I was a Fulbright Scholar in Budapest, Hungary from 1998-99. My current dissertation research is a mixed-methods comparative study of how for-profit social entrepreneurship models are evolving simultaneously during the neoliberal era in two contrasting cases of political economy: the United States and Cuba.
