Graduate Student

Sarah D'Onofrio

I’m a student in the PHD program with a focus on both political economy and environmental sociology. Coming from the University of Delaware’s undergraduate program, my research consistently involves a focus on law and society. Specifically, my research aims to understand the ways in which the state uses law to perpetuate inequalities, most often in the context of environmental law and problems related to large scale livestock farming. While my masters thesis focused on the harms caused by the dairy industry in Wisconsin and how those harm were exacerbated by neoliberal environmental policy, the research for my dissertation will principally highlight political and environmental harms caused by the chicken industry in rural spaces.
